The course is designed for suitably qualified professionals interested in developing their understanding of psychoanalytic theory and therapeutic practice.
The course comprises 30 weeks of two-hour seminars, once a week, with readings and case discussions in a small group setting focusing on:
- The Development of the Personality
- Defences and Clinical Presentations
- At work in the clinical setting: The Practice of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
The Introductory Course Brochure outlines the aims, conceptual underpinnings, and course content. The Course runs from March – November and is held in person on Tuesday and / or Wednesday evenings between 6.30 – 8.30pm at the VAPP, 18 Erin Street, Richmond.
The fee for the 2025 course was $3,730 + GST. Information about fees for 2026 will be available soon.
Applications for the 2026 Introductory Course will open in July 2025.
